The best velvet paitning I've ever seen, bar none, was in Tijuana twenty years ago. It was Elvis with a crown of thorns. A sublimely disturbing piece of work. Elvis was gazing heavenward with tears in his eyes and blood trickling down his forehead.

I reckoned that I'd see the theme again, but it was, apparently, a unique work.

No, not me. It was something Melanie found on Flikr. I have been toying with experimenting with black velvet, and I do like the patterns on the jacket, though. I think I will steer clear of Yoda and Elvis, though. I am not much for "pop" content.
