Second, if we are talking about continuing democracy, you are right. The Spanish are simply not to be trusted in the voting booth. They are good people, but they simply do not have a knack for voting. They need a Regent at the least.

Italians, on the other hand, are a little better, since we cannot agree on anything, so no one party will be elected into a position of doing too much harm.

And everyone else should be trusted even less.

I am not calling for the election of a Latin governor for four to eight years, I am calling for the appointment of a Latin Duce to serve at the pleasure of the Grand Council for as long as the Grand Council sees fit.

Democracy is good in getting the little guy's voice out there, but when it turns into doing what the little guy demands, it has decayed. Liberal democracy, especially when every schmoe over the age of 18 gets an equal vote, is the fast track to that decay.

As far as California and the rest of the continent: we are the vanguard of the good, the bad and the ugly, and, yes, the future of the GOP is in the model of Adolf von Kennedy. It is a sad thing, but at least it will get conservatives from looking to the GOP like the big mamma bird bringing the regurgitated worm.

Come on. California can only elect a non-sozialist if he happens to be an over-muscled, over-sexed, underachieving, pseudo-sozialist Austrian Nixon-supporter who bows to every wind of public opinion and changes colors like a chameleon and you tell US that we should only have it so good? There's much to be said for limited immigration for the good of the immigrants. When native Californians are done with Latin immigrants, they're the sort of Latins who elected and supported the red government in Spain that Franco destroyed. Poor Hispanics + Californian Angloes = corruption and sozialism.
