Paella on the Grill

I went to the studio to take art pictures, and the camera's battery needed recharging. So, that will happen this afternoon, no big deal. I went to the pictures folder to see if I had any art photos, and didn't, but I did find this picture of a paella I made on a barbecue while camping last spring:

I always like paella, but there is something extra good about it when it is made outdoors over a fire. This one was with rabbit, sausages, clams, and mussels.

Erik, you need an art gallery for your food pictures.

I just made a large platter of fried eggplant and consumed about a quarter of it... and now I am hungry again. Darn.

I am trying to imagine what that paella tastes like and failing, no doubt.

Terence,

That is a dangerous place, one I have to avoid at almost all cost. They have more interesting ways to part me from my money than I would have imagined possible. Wine. Cookbooks. Cool Spanish ingredients. Music. A paella pan that is the size of my kitchen table, and the propane-fired rig to cook it on.

I really would love to have a paella party for that many people. And when I am in the Spanish Table, I start thinking up reasons to do so.

So, unless absolutely necessary, I avoid that place and get my Iberian stuff at Galvan's in San Leandro, which is a great shop, family run, with very good meat, outstanding fish, and all of the Iberian staples that I need.

However, I am probably due for my occasional trip to the Spanish Table. I just have to put it in the budget at some point. It is especially dangerous when Melanie and I both go there, and it is only fair that we both go, when I go, so it could be potentially expensive.
