Erik's Rant

April 13, 2005

Ah, yes, Sunny California

On AOL's front page they are promoting trips to Orlando, San Fran and OTHER SUNNY PLACES!

That's just mean.

I used to work near one of San Francisco's (what is this San Fran business anyway?) new trendy hotels. One of the regular sights in the summer was to see families of tourists (particularly the Germans) walk out the front door dressed for Hawaii. You should see their faces as the cold, wind-whipped fog chilled them to the bone.

If you want sun in the summer, you might want to reconsider San Francisco as a destination.

Remember, "she hates California, it's cold and it's damp..."

Cool site, Erik. As a resident of the bay area I concur. If you're thinking of moving here, it sucks and it's cold and rainy and foggy. Please don't come. My wife and I can't buy a home because it's so wonderful out here... I mean crappy.

MamaT,

Scroll down to April 8, or simply click aqui for the recipe. Good luck with it (and if you have any questions on any part of it, let me know).

When I visited San Francisco (many, many years ago) I had to nip into Brooks Brothers to buy a sweater. The sales clerk told me they sold more sweaters in their San Francisco store than in any of their other retail outlets!

Enjoyed the trip immensely, but my feet were cold the entire time! (And no, I didn't have on sandals!)

Oh, Erik, on a completely different note may I remind you? Recipe for homemeade Limoncello? Hint. Hint.

Sssshhhhh! They might all decide to move here, raising property prices even more.
