OK. Time to Leave
I am not a love it or leave it sort of person, but there were a lot of folks who claimed that they were going to move to Canada if Bush won. Well? Bye. Don't slam the door on your way out!
I am celebrating, but not the election of Bush. Rather I am rejoicing that Kerryman lost. He was a creep and the world is much better off that he will not be the President of the United States.
Why am I not celebrating Bush?
Because I am skeptical. He now has a mandate, his supporters clearly voted for him on moral issues, he has a Republican Congress, homosex marriage was barred in 11 states. There can be no more excuses. Herr Bush, du bist jetzt dran. Ball's in your court.
To my fellow conservative Catholics who supported Bush, let this be the litmus test. If Bush fails, then we have a moral duty to treat the party of Gubernator von Kennedy with the same disgust and disdain that we treat the party of Barbara Lee.
I wish Herr Bush the best, but I am not expecting much. We need to be harder on him than ever. There is no room for excuses. Beware of pseudo-conservatives.

Support GW and hold him to his word.
Insure we get a good Supreme Court candidate
who gets confirmed to replace Renquist.
More prominent is, how do we Catholics
deal with our own divided house that showed
it's reality in this election for all to see?
Let's not bury our heads in the sand when we have outspoken protestants of the faith working in the open within the USCCB and throughout America.
The weakness and near irrelevance of Catholic culture and its leadership (USCCB) was tragically witnessed in the landslide California prop 71 yes vote. Mel Gibson the much sneered at
Tridentine Catholic, at least came out and voiced his conscious opposition loudly to the press both on TV and radio (I have him on tape being grilled by D. Sawyer of ABC). He's the bravest ardent Catholic in the popular culture and I applaud his courage to defend the essence of the faith.
- welcome brave new world -
To save the Holy family in this social climate I suggest the need to light a fire for our faith
in Christ, activate and free the real men in delusion behind the feminist apron, and ring the bell of solid reason to those who have been appointed to lead.
In defense of the Holy Family
Marc
As much as I disdain parties in general, you still have to admit that the Republican platform is much more conducive to at least a not-participating-in-blatant-moral-evil vote. Individual action/inaction doesn't necessarily validate or invalidate a platform (the particular vs. the principle).
Posted by: DN at November 5, 2004 7:37 AMThe Canajuns have issues a statement that disaffected Dems will have to wait in line for legal immigrant status - just like everyone else. I still would hope that they do so.
Starting with the Californians who voted to support embryonic dismemberment for fun and profit.
