Belated Friday Five
1. What food do you like that most people hate?
Organ meats in general, with tripe and sweatbreads topping the list.
2. What food do you hate that most people love?
Hard-cooked eggs (also scrambled eggs, poached eggs, basically my limit to egginess is frittata, souffle, quiche, tortilla. The next step to overcoming my egg aversion (caused by a childhood allergy, so that I never associated that awful smell with food) is... fill in the blank, I am open to suggestions).
3. What famous person, whom many people may find attractive, is most unappealing to you?
I find Julia Roberts one of the ugliest actresses around.
4. What famous person, whom many people may find unappealing, do you find
attractive?
Hmmm. I will have to think about that one.
5. What popular trend baffles you?
Most of them. Tattoos, piercings, "alternative rock", nostalgia for the 1970's, liberalism, disco, meatloaf revivals, Wicca, people who are into Wicca as well as Lord of the Rings, Seinfeld, Friends, come to think of it just about all of the TV shows that are popular.
Posted by erik at November 11, 2003 1:12 AM | TrackBackDoes anyone find Celine Dion attractive? Likewise Babs Strsnd? As for Mr. Kerry, I don't believe I have ever seen an image of him, so I will have to leave that to your judgement. I also don't believe I have ever seen a picture of Harris. I don't watch news on TV nor do I read newspapers (not even my own stories, once they are turned in to the editor). Well, once in awhile I sneak a peak at the competitions' food page, but that is about it these days.

2.
3. I share your Julia observations. Also, John F. Kerry, the haughty, French-looking Democrat who also, by the way, served in Vietnam. Drew Barrymore (looks like she needs a good scrubbing). Pamela Lee (no amount of scrubbing will ever clean that one up). Celine Dion. Babs Streisand - even before she was outted as a Communist.
4. Katherine Harris, Florida's former Secretary of State.
5. Blogging. ;-) Angry Left liberalism.
I think that to appreciate Seinfeld, one has to have watched way too much television. I saw a stand-up routine of his and he was doing this completely unfunny listing of the television shows he had watched, and the audience was eating it up. I was completely perplexed. I guess I do not watch enough television for him to make the slightest bit of sense.
I don't think I know what Diller looks like, but I have seen this Bullock in some film or other: Speed, perhaps, or was that someone else?
Hey I agree about Seinfeld-just was is it about that guy that people think is funny? His standup bits aren't even any good. And Julia Roberts has unfairly claimed the title of "America's Sweetheart", which of course belongs to Phyliss Diller, I mean Sandra Bullock.
